Caméléon is a boutique and gallery located on Square Maurice Gardette in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. The shop is for anyone who loves unique objects: both vintage finds and new creations from emerging designers and artists.
About
Caméléon was founded by Brenda, a New Yorker who settled in Paris in 2012 after living between the two cities for over 40 years. The shop grew out of her fascination with beautiful objects, which she has been collecting throughout her lifetime.
The pieces on display are constantly changing and being organized into themed arrangements and vignettes. Contemporary pieces by artisans sit alongside rare and quirky vintage finds, creating a poetic and playful dialogue between the past and the present.
The Neighborhood
Caméléon is located on a leafy park, Square Maurice Gardette. The area is home to many artists and designers who lend a creative vibe to the neighborhood; flourishing independent cafés, restaurants, ateliers and shops have a distinctive local flavor and unconventional style.
Caméléon is an integral part of this creative community. Not only does the shop support local artisans by selling their creations, it also serves as an inspiration with “collages” or still-lifes of unique objects. It is an outpost for locals and tourists alike to chat about culture, get a restaurant tip, or come together during openings and events.
